The Mark of Excellence Award categories are designed to recognize and celebrate business success across various industries, sizes, and stages of business.

With a diverse range of categories, there is something for every business, from entrepreneurship and innovation to community involvement. We encourage you to explore the categories and apply for those that align with your business’s strengths. There is no limit to the number of categories you can use, so showcase your excellence across multiple areas!

Award Categories

Agriculture Excellence Award (New)

Honours a farm or agricultural business that demonstrates innovation, sustainability, and leadership in advancing agriculture while contributing to local economic and community growth.

Community Involvement Award

Recognizes a business or organization that demonstrates exceptional dedication to improving the community through volunteerism, sponsorship, and local engagement initiatives.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award

Honours a business that embraces diversity and creates a workplace culture where all individuals are valued, respected, and given equitable opportunities to succeed.

Growth & Expansion Award

Celebrates businesses that have achieved measurable growth in revenue, staff, or market reach, while maintaining excellence in products, services, and community presence.

Innovation Award

Recognizes businesses that pioneer new ideas, technologies, or processes that lead to improved operations, competitiveness, or community benefit.

Marketing Award

Celebrates excellence in marketing strategy, branding, or promotion that effectively engages audiences and contributes to organizational success.

New Venture Award

Highlights emerging businesses (operating three years or less) that demonstrate strong potential for long-term success through vision, creativity, and determination.

Non-Profit Impact Award

Recognizes a non-profit or charitable organization that demonstrates exceptional service, leadership, and measurable community impact through its programs and partnerships.

Service Excellence Award

Acknowledges a business that consistently delivers outstanding customer service and creates positive, memorable experiences for clients or guests.

Young Entrepreneur Award

Honours an entrepreneur aged 35 or younger who exemplifies leadership, innovation, and community involvement through their business accomplishments.

Honourary Awards

Business of the Year Award

The Chamber’s highest honour is awarded to a business that demonstrates excellence in leadership, innovation, growth, and community impact.

Entrepreneur of the Year

Recognizes an individual who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit — demonstrating leadership, creativity, and perseverance while contributing significantly to the local economy.

Youth Involvement Award

Recognizes a business that has made significant investments in youth and their activities over the past year, fostering a foundation for future generations. “…we are building foundation for future generations…” ~ Darcy Haugan.

Nominate A Business Hall of Fame Inductee

Humboldt’s Business Hall of Fame was established by the Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce in 2011 to recognize those who have shaped the business landscape in Humboldt & area. Nominations for the Hall of Fame can be emailed to admin@thehumboldtchamber.ca

General Eligibility

In order for a business, organization, or individual to be eligible to be nominated, they:

Must have operated in Saskatchewan for a minimum of one year at the time of application.
Must be financially viable.
Must qualify as a for-profit business. (Nonprofit organizations may apply for the Non-Profit Impact Award.)
Must not apply for a category the business has won within the last three years. (Other categories remain eligible.)
Must not have won the Business of the Year Award within the past three years.
