The Mark of Excellence Awards are open to businesses (including individual farmers or producers), organizations and individuals in Humboldt and District. Membership in the Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce is not mandatory to participate in this awards program.

Award Categories
Community Merit
Criteria: A Non-Profit Organization that has made a positive and creative effort to enhance the community we live in.
Community Involvement
Criteria: A business demonstrating exceptional performance in its support of the arts and culture, amateur sports, education, healthcare and/or voluntary groups.
Entrepreneur of the Year
Criteria: Eligible to a person who owns a business based within Humboldt and District. The candidate must possess entrepreneurial spirit, be innovative and experienced success in the start- up and operation of a new or existing business.
Growth and Expansion
Criteria: Given to a business that has made significant changes in their business resulting in “Growth” or “Expansion”. Changes may relate to job creation and/or investment.
Marketing
Criteria: The Marketing Award is awarded to the business demonstrating exceptional performance in the execution of a successful marketing strategy.
New Business Venture
Criteria: A business that has been in operation for 3 years or less as of December 31, 2019. The business must show positive performance in terms of current or expected profitability, job creation and/or entry into new markets.
Service Award
Criteria: The Award for Service goes to a business demonstrating exceptional customer service.
Business Hall of Fame Inductee
Criteria: A business person from Humboldt and District who has made a significant impact on the landscape of the business
community. This award honours and recognizes the importance of strong leaders in business success. A business owner that
demonstrates leadership in the form of mentorship or education of other businesses and/or staff. Individuals who have demonstrated leadership, business acumen and success, an entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and a commitment to the people they work with. Nominations are open year-round for this category.
